It was only a matter of time before Bill’s name would be showing up on his own signs in front of homes in the heart of Dallas. After 23 years as a residential agent and co-owner of David Griffin and Company, Bill took his career to the next level and founded Bill Griffin Real Estate located in Snider Plaza.

Although the company is new, Bill begins this venture with a history and perspective that can only be acquired from time-honored experience. Bill’s expertise covers all aspects of real estate including, single family, multi-family development, land acquisition, investment property, and commercial development. Bill Griffin Real Estate Brokerage will specialize in marketing upper end single-family homes in the close-in, established neighborhoods of Dallas such as the Park Cities, Uptown/Downtown, Oaklawn, Lakewood/East Dallas, north Dallas and Kessler/Stephens Park, as well as marketing multi-family developments.

“I am well known for my success in marketing multi-family developments and working one on one with developers,” Bill says. “I will continue to work with developers as well as representing buyers and sellers on single family sales.”

Bill Griffin began his career in the early 1980s and established many precedents in his real estate career and for the real estate community. Bill was one of the first agents to market multi-family developments in the Uptown and Knox/Travis neighborhoods before anyone knew these areas existed.

“I was very inspired by the pioneer developers like City Homes, and I could see the vision they had for an urban lifestyle in Dallas,” Bill says. “ I also knew there was a huge market of younger buyers who were not ready for a house but did not want to continue renting. The new condo and town home developments provided the answer and filled a huge gap in the market that had been missing since the condo market crashed in the mid 1980s.”

In order to get the public excited about condos again, Bill produced buyer seminars to promote urban living. These seminars allowed the buyers to learn about new developments and see a presentation on the vision for these new urban neighborhoods with retail, restaurants and homes all together. Over the years Bill Griffin sold out over 50 projects and worked side by side with developers such as Urban Innovations, Metro-Town Homes, Grenadier, Luna Corp, City Homes, Breckenridge-Nixon, Pan America, Lazarus Capital, LTN, Marksman Realty, Gorman Homes, and Chillmarc.

“Real estate in Dallas has been very exciting over the past 23 years and it has been exhilarating being at the forefront of it all,” Bill explains.

Bill also invested his time in managing and building up David Griffin and Company Realtors to be one of the successful brokerage offices in Dallas. Bill’s interest in technology led to his creation of their company web site, which took their business to a new level.

“I knew that younger buyers were using the web to do their research and not relying as much on the Sunday paper to find the properties they were looking for,” Bill says.

Bill created his own e-mail newsletter to keep his clients up to date on the market and provide invaluable information on mortgage rates and real estate opportunities. Bill’s skills as a leader became evident when he established a mentor program for new agents who joined the company. This program was especially important after 9/11 when there was a slump in the real estate business.

“Morale was low and this program provided the support we all needed to keep our spirits up,” Bill says. “It encouraged everyone to persevere. I have always enjoyed inspiring the people I work with to keep a positive attitude.”

Bill’s background and education in accounting produced a natural interest in the mortgage business relating to real estate. This interest coupled with a desire to expand their business led Bill to spear head a mortgage partnership with his company.

“This allowed us to provide an in-house mortgage department for our clients and agents to get up-to-date and immediate information without any delays.” Bill says. “It also allowed us to provide a complete service from purchase or sale to close. The mortgage partnership is one of the most successful ventures the company ever did.”
